Privacy policy

Last updated: 20 July 2026

Aussie Cyber Check is operated by Squirrelhog Pty Ltd (ABN 83 659 968 439) ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains how we handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By using Aussie Cyber Check you agree to this policy.

The short version

Aussie Cyber Check is a free self-assessment. It has no accounts and no login. When you take the assessment, your answers and results are stored on your device, not sent to us. Because of that, we hold very little personal information about you.

What we collect

We do not ask you to create an account. We do not collect payment details, because the app is free. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

How we use it

Storage and security

Your assessment data stays on your device under your control, and you can clear it by clearing the app's data or removing the app. The website and any supporting services are hosted with reputable providers, with access controls and least-privilege practices applied to any limited data we do hold.

Who we share it with

We do not share your assessment answers, because we do not receive them. We use a small number of trusted providers to host the website and deliver email if you contact us. They process data on our instructions. We may disclose information where required by law.

Analytics

This website does not run advertising trackers. If we add basic, privacy-respecting analytics in future, we will update this policy first. See our cookie policy for details.

Your rights

Under the APPs you can request access to, or correction of, any personal information we hold about you, such as a support email you sent us. Because the assessment itself stays on your device, there is nothing for us to retrieve or delete on that front. To make a request or raise a privacy concern, contact us below. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version.
